impossible memorization JUAN TAMARIZ

Postby Miniolo » Feb 1st, '10, 17:33

hi there:D i saw juan tamariz do the impossible memorization trick and i was stunned....

how the **** did he do that?

im not new to magic and know a lot of methods to do it but its not as good as his one...

this is the trick : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vVPBkR20p6c

deck is riffle shuffledby performer then performer spreads deck and looks away spectator chooses one card and puts it in his pocket ... after that performer comes into play again and looks thru face of cards and instantly know which card it is...

so far i know

no force
no peek
no marked cards
and i think its not a stack i dont see any False Shuffles

does any one know in which book he publish this or video ?

Just a thought from a beginner to magic...
...could it be that he's got the deck initially set up so that the riffles (couldn't tell if they were "perfect" or not, nor did I watch more than once) leave the cards in a pre-learned order?

In that case...
No force,
No peek,
No marked cards,
Stacked deck, "false" shuffled into order.

Maybe he's got a way of riffling that isn't one for one like a "perfect" one, but still gives a predetermined order. I don't know if that's even possible (I'd imagine so) but that could be enough to get the move past the trained eye.

Or maybe he should be burned at the stake. :P

i know what you mean and i was thinking the same:P but that would be insane skillz:P

the orde cant be a 8 kings stack

if it is a CHaSeD stack it is possible to maintain the stack... but still if u maintain the stack how do u know? which one the spectator chose?

As this is taken from a lecture it may be available in his notes.
There is a method for achieving this with no marks, no force, no peeks and real genuine shuffles - it would play exactly as seen on the clip. However, lets not turn this thread into another guessing game of methods :)

Buy his International Magic DVD as Jim mentions. He explains it in full. Very devious.
