I'm sure it'd have to be a pretty jobsworth copper to nick you for having one of these.

Overreact?

You mean like arresting a stripper for impersonating a police officer?

(Why did Jeremy Beadle never get nicked, now that would have been a laugh)

I have to disagree, in the case of a giant £2 coin, there is nothing illegal because it is not an imitation coin as defined in the relevant act.
However I also wouldn't underestimate the ability of an overeaction from the Police.

Just to wrap this one up a bit regarding where to buy these from. I tried ordering from Vanishing Inc as they had a decent price & free downloads included but my transaction didn't go through because;

"Every now and again UK banks tend to block us as we're an American company"

I emailed them asking if they could take one to Blackpool so I could pick it up there as they are trading in the dealer's hall. The reponse I got was;

"Ordering from the site is probably the best one for this one and we won't be stocking Jumbo £2 coins at Blackpool. We'll only have our exclusive line."

I gave up as I was being asked to go back to the site again when I had to call my bank last time after they thought someone had nicked my details.

Within minutes i'd ordered from magictricks.co.uk for a couple of pounds more & it arrived after the weekend. So if anyone in the UK is interested then I hope you can find some help in my delayed purchase.

The above coin I was refering to would be something along the lines of a "bitten coin" (as previous posts about the legislation have already pointed out oversized coins are NOT illegal.)
Also you may get some overreaction from a Police officer... but then the custody sargent would have to agree on a lawful arrest and the CPS would have to agree that prosecution was in the puplic interest.
They wouldn't.
Seriously, worry more about your performace and less about what are common sense answers.
