Siamese Deck

Postby Antera » Feb 4th, '10, 11:56

I came across an old deck principle called the Siamese Deck, invented a long time ago. Without going into to much detail ( and i will later) has anyone used this principle as i think a lot can be done with this

meanwhile i will make one up and try it out. im surprised that some of these old principles are not used much or ignored.

The problem with that principle is that the cards are 'connected', whereas the standard version of this deck does not need that. This means that the standard version will most likely look more natural when handled. Ask Mark Lewis for his opinion - he's your man for the standard version.

I am assuming that This is the Lu Brent variation on sven , that Hugard published in the encyclopedia of card tricks.

Am i right?

(Its very much like The Mene-Tekel Pack or Peak deck by the way)

I use it in many shows.

That was my assumption, but we all know what 'assume' does... :)

Ill dig out the info later in the book i got this from . I think it was one of Hugards books as Dale states . The cards are connected as Ted states but the beauty is that you can overhand shuffle these . Obviously like any gaffed pack sometimes one has to switch it in and audience management etc etc

I tried it this morning on the waiter in the cafe using just a couple of the gaffs and the guy was very fooled. Like a micro quick Amb Card routine.

( yes you have to peek for reveal on the gaff )

Waiters eh. God bless em

Don't forget that you can riffle shuffle the standard deck very easily. Mark Lewis' book has some other techniques too.

Reading the Siamese deck instructions on LPP, it looks like you cant riffle shuffle it. It does mention riffling the deck, but thats refering to teh standard way of displaying a sven.

When you say the standard version Ted, what do you mean?.

I thought that there was only the connnected card version called the Siamese Deck. If the cards are not connected then its surelly not the same thing

How about a Siamese Stripper :D

Based on your interest in Siamese and Sven, you might want to look at Trilby as well.
