Coin question

Postby katrielalex » Mar 31st, '05, 19:33

*trying to think of a way to phrase this so that I don't give it away, but not doing it very well; so pm me and I'll explain it clearer*

Does Penguin stock the kind of gimmick coin that you need for a standard coin transpo (penny in left hand, nickel in right hand, close fist, open fist, coins have swiched)?

To be exact, do they sell it under another name (Dime and Penny, for example?)?

Thanks,

Kati

in short no, e-magic do a copper / silver half set but not a dime set.
you could e-mail peguin and ask for a copper / silver dime / penny set.

Well...I mean any ........./......... coin - doesn't have to be dime/penny.

What's it sold as?

I've recently seen a 10p/2p version of HH's by Tenko Magic and the quality seemed pretty good. Only problem is that it was being sold for £28 which seemed a little on the pricey side.

I know but then that's sometimes the price you pay for a decent quality gimmick. I'm not into coin magic that much so don't know if this is a reasonable price.

I travel quite a lot on business and always try to check out any local magic dealers and it's always surprising how much prices vary, even on basic items. I've seen some gimmicked card decks sold for £12 in some shops that are for sale in others for £40.

I know...just as I buy most of my magic out of my own pocket money, I've turned rather miserly :P.

eddy gibson is the defacto standard for uk coinage and his quality is the bench mark for coinworkers.
I'm not sure why uk coin tricks are 20 to 50% more expensive compared to american and none uk products.

emagick does a product called sun and moon which is about ten quid so is quite cheap for the set and would alow you to do a gold / silver transpo but you would be linited in the amount of effects you could do as you canot get the coins seperatly.
