forklift card rise by John T. sheets
what the box says
A spectator is directed to remove any four of a kind from an unprepared deck of cards. She is asked to impress upon her mind her favorite card suit. The four selected cards are mixed and placed into the card box. The spectator is directed to command her favorite card to rise from the box. Slowly the selected card rises until it protrudes more than halfway out of the box. The Spectator plucks the card from the box and all may be inspected.

my thoughts
when i first recieved this trick, i opened it up, pulled out the gimmick and thought, wow, i have no clue how this is going to make a card rise. the gimmick itself is oddly shaped, and conveniently flesh colored. when i finally read the instructions i realized just how ingenious this little piece of metal was. unfortunately, i also realized how rediculous the idea behind it was. everything the package states is 100% true, but setting up the trick is a little obvious to do if your borrowing a deck. the more i looked at this item, the more impractical it became. it is something that is a blast to play with, but nothing i will ever really perform in public. simple machines just arent my thing. i will give it a 2 out of ten for practicality, but a 9 out of 10 for fun-ness
