Yes indeed! Both sources of instruction are excellent. Potential buyers should know, however, that these two aids satisfy vastly different needs: Fisher teaches three clever, original, and fairly advanced routines that greatly expand the usefulness of some standard gimmicks in classic routines. Bobo, on the other hand, covers the spectrum from basics to advanced tricks and regular to gaffed coins.
Even Bobo's slightly smaller original edition teaches 116 sleights and 236 tricks! And at < $10, why would any magician pass up Bobo?
Fisher offers the more advanced coin worker significant improvements to three standard routines (Copper/Silver, Coins Across, and CSB). These advancements for three classics are well worth the money and practice-time if you already are doing the routines. But you could do a lot of excellent coin magic without considering Fisher. I think Fisher would agree you shouldn’t start (or try to master) coins without Bobo!
I recommend Roth’s Expert Coin Magic set of three DVDs after starting Bobo. Also see Dan Watkins' instructions - some are for sale, but his terrific instruction on palming is free on the web.

You might want to run a search of the reviews section for Basic Coin magic.

Take care, Ian :)

Basic Coin Magic DVDs

Postby Bcfaigg » Apr 22nd, '05, 13:35

I would rate Michael Ammar's Complete Introduction to Coin Magic very highly for the beginner - he assume's no previous knowledge of the subject, and teaches a lot of basic moves, as well as complete coin routine's. His views on such things as ethics, and other more subtle parts of your performance, such as misdirection are almost worth the cost of the dvd on their own.
