Anyone Trying To Learn Mnemonica? Osterlind? Arronson? Etc.?

Postby crozboz » Feb 28th, '10, 20:23

Basically, after seeing a french chap at Blackpool performing a few stunning tricks using Mnemonica, I bought myself a copy, and learned it.

I mentioned it to a friend of mine who has been inspired to use his powers of magic & computing skills to make this

It's basically a programme to help you learn it!

Just thought some people might be interested in it.

Anyway - hope it helps!

I wish I'd had that when I learnt Mnemonica!

I used stackview when learning Osterlind, but it didn't test you. This one does.

I learned Mnemonica quicker by having people name a card, or choose a random number.

I've gotten quicker at it by using Joe's programme above. It makes you think, and get used to thinking about it quicker.

I used random.org to basically achieve the same thing, at a much slower rate. If you do the Mnemonica process properly though, you won't need much cueing.

It's very true, but as I say, spend a few minutes on the website, and you'll find you can increase your speed with it in no time.

Mind you, im only speaking for myself, its basically just practice without annoying the other person in the room.

I'd imagine, Lenny, if you've been doing it for a while, you'll be a lot quicker than the 3 seconds on all cards, so probably wouldn't help you much.

Eitherway, no matter what Tamariz says, you WILL forget it. Or at least, you will forget a few cards here and there if you leave it for a few weeks without giving it the slightest bit of attention. However, this is excellent for refreshing the memory.

True - I'm constantly around 95% accurate. I always forget where the 10s are for some reason...

The absolute best non RS ID routine uses a piece of double sided tape and no sleights :)
