Just Think (by Adrian Sullivan)

Just a quick review to get me started here, can post more if you're interested... Please excuse me if I'm not setting up my review properly

Noticed this had previously been reviewed, but is now in an archived forum - and I just wanted to pass on how powerful this little effect is.

The Effect
Spectator writes down a card they are thinking of (any card) on a piece of paper, crumples it up and keeps it to themselves. Without either of you uttering a word, you fan through your deck of cards and hand them their card

Cost
£10 from JB Magic gets you this basic effect...

Difficulty
(1=easy to do, 2=No sleights, but not so easy, 3=Some sleights used,
4=Advanced sleights used, 5=Suitable for experienced magicians only)

A very easy 1.

Review
This is the basic effect, but with a little tweaking this effect can play big. I was doing my (non-card thinking) routine on every one I met at Blackpool, and fooled them all :)

I absolutely adore this gimmick, and would love to hear any thoughts you have on it.

10 out of 10

Thanks,
Grant

Thanks for the review, Grant. What aporia was hinting at is that, where we already have a review for an item, people are asked to add their reviews to the same thread. This means we don't get half a dozen on the same item, which can confuse people looking for information.

I think it's a rather neat little item, actually. I've never used it in an actual performance, but it's good. Max Maven has a nice presentation for a similar gimmick on his 'Videomind' series.

Hi, I was going to add it to the original, but it was marked as a closed archive with the last post some 3 1/2 years ago... I'm a bit new to all this

One thing I'm really trying to do with my magic is use old principles which have either been dismissed by most as too simple or "obvious", or just plain forgotten about. I'll check out Max Maven... thanks for the tip

No worries, the old Review Area is only closed to new posts, all the existing ones can be added to. If it helps we try to move 'old' ones into the newer areas as and when additions are made.

There are clear shades of Riggs to this little device.

I love it.
