uk or us coinage :?:

hopping halfs any format but preferably the exp format will give you two gimicked coins that are used often in coin magic.
a scotch and soda or coin unigue variant would also be good.
a butter coin variant will help with coins across / through table / coin vanish from group etc.

thats the gimmicks now the media:- boobo's coin magic is the defacto standard.
the encylopedia of coin magic and the michel amar coin magic series are also worth taking a look.

jay sankey's revolutionary coin magic could be a bit advanced for a beginner but is certainly a great addition to the list.
also try your local libary for magic books most of which will cover the basics of coin work.

I just liked the spelling: Boobo's Coin Magic
i often add extra letters being dyslexic / dispraxic but i like a joke as good as the rest, I'm not offended and well spotted.

In case anybody is interested, I think Presto Magic do a British version of Hopping Halves! They are based in Essex have a look at their website but it's not easy to get round it......they do a lot more than what is on this site so you may have to sign up for their eNews http://www.zyworld.com/coinpurse/Prestomagic.htm
