Tarbell phsiognomy?

Postby SamGurney » Mar 8th, '10, 04:25

I don't know about anyone else, but there is a section in the tarbell course of magic about face reading, which seems a little out of place for some reason. Has anyone got any references for looking into it a bit more or understanding if it has anything to it?

No.
Tarbell doesnt cover this area at all. This could be down to this area being a reasonably new science, at the time Tarbell was published.

He was talking about different (quite old fasioned) personality types and then different regions of the face and how they related to those personality types. Then he goes on and explains some handkerchief magic. Just thought it seems a little out of place.
Thanks.

Dale,

From memory I think that the original course did have some personality types and readings - to do with spectator handling.

I imagine this was one of the many things that was cut (including the instructions to hold rabbits by the ears, for one) when they revised the course for the books. This probably means that it is still in the cheaper CD version.

I'm afraid I don't know the history of this, or why Tarbell included it. Presumably he thought it would help? :)

Your reality, sir, is lies and balderdash, and I'm delighted to say that I have no grasp of it whatsoever.

thanks, it does seem a little random: 'here's how you vanish an egg, heres some handkerchief magic, here's how to produce a rabit out of a hat, here's the human condition and here's some illusions.'
