Postby kems » Apr 13th, '05, 07:54

I don't get many, "Show us a trick then" requests, but I might do Chameleon Sandwich, or maybe Renegade. I'm a cardy :P.

I also sometimes use the 3 ring circus...it's growing on me o_0.

no props.

that only leaves mathamatical magic or a mentalist trick.
otherwise haunted key or a coin transpo / coins across.

ps. a magician never ever goes out without at least one trick in there pocket.

Oh sorry, didn't see that .

I always bring a deck of cards with me, when I go out....

If I didn't have one...erm, probably just do a simple coin trick (see this coin, now it's in this hand, now this one, now it's doubled in value (thanks bobo))

But I don't think I'd ever have to :S

my stock answer is usualy this:-

isnt that interesting everytime you say your a magician you get asked to show a trick, you don't say to a builder show us your brick.

a good quicky is sankeys slot machine were you paut a coin into your hand and pull your thumb and out caskades several coins.

Yeh, normally have cards, or coins with me - Or two elastic bands on my wrist or there's my reserve bands on my other wrist, my ankle, and in my wallet (just in case!)

But with absolutely nothing!!
Erm... see what i can borrow first, (wow - can I borrow that rather ordinary looking pack of cards...thanks... - what's that? Svengali! no is that a type of brand? - never heard of it...hehehee  )

Then, mental card forces...or invisble deal - ala Derren Brown.
Or, that one, where you wind their fingers in together (it kinda works).

If kids...thumb stretching trick...

After that, yeh, i leg it!!

I'll do an object force where I write the prediction down, or I'll do the 'lapdancer effect', I've even made a quick set of 10 ESP cards out of beermats and then there are many possibilities...

Another good standard is the coin in the hand predictions, either way round.

The more I am learning, the more dramatic I find tricks are that require, or seem to require no materials. They come across as real magic.

The said I'm another one who always carries a pack of cards with them.

roland if you carry a supersharpie with you then you have a raft of possibilities and an inocent looking pen.

Yes, but if I've remembered my sharpie, I've probably remembered my cards and other stuff! Not that I need any props, after all, I can read people's minds :)

I carry two business cards, each with a prediction. I then ask for a number of coins from the spec(s) and do a mentalism routine with their money.

Do you ever carry two keys, i assume you know the Boy/Girl key routine, that always gets a big laugh. Like the answer about the cab drivers
