Katona's husband 'to be a magician'

Postby Tomo » Mar 22nd, '10, 18:48

From Digital Spy http://tinyurl.com/yjlfjck

Kerry Katona's estranged husband Mark Croft has reportedly decided to launch a new career as a magician.

The former cab driver is said to have used auction website eBay to stock up on supplies for his new ambition.

A source told the Daily Star: "It's sad really. Only last week Mark was busy telling the world how much he had enjoyed spending Kerry's £6 million fortune. He spent years with her, blowing hundreds of thousands of pounds on flash cars.

"But now he's spending his days buying magic sets on eBay so that he can try to make some money as a magician. His pals reckon he will use his split with Kerry to start a new career in entertainment.

"He always was a bit of a showman. He's going to have to find a new way to make a living now he's without Kerry and all her cash."

Croft was dumped by Katona last month after he accused her of being unfaithful.

They live quite near here. I think I'll avoid bars in Alderley and Wilmslow until he goes back to taxi driving. If you don't know who these people are, lucky you.

Kerry Katona is a famous opera singer, and Mark Croft is Sherlock Holmes' brother. We're not stupid, you know.

He's already turned himself into a sponge, so he's clearly a natural.

I don't know the guy, but good luck to him.

The above comments makes it sound like anyone with a few bob in their pocket can become an instant magician just by buying a few bits and pieces from ebay !!

I hope he realises that it takes lots of time to develop techniques and style. Things which no amount of money can buy. Though to be fair it did say that he was a 'bit of a showman' so perhaps he is part-way there.

Bit of a showman could mean anything. If it means he'll have a crack at karaoke when he's had a few pints, that's not being a showman, that's being drunk.

The problem is, this pair are quick fix merchants. They go from broke to rolling in money every few months depending on how deep the coffers at Hello! are that quarter. It seems like he's decided that now he's on his own, being a magician is easy and is an easy form of income. It's not on both counts. And he seems to be doing it on the cheap by going through the rip-off land that can be eBay's magic listings.

Good luck to the guy, but honestly, I reckon he'll be doing something else by Christmas.

Though if he'd like to pop over Alderley Edge to Macc, I'll give him some stripper deck lessons :D

It's completely and utterly unrelated - but I saw this in the related videos.
It cracked me up!

For some reason, I remembered this thread just now and googled "Mark Croft Magician". A year on and nothing I can find suggests that he did anything about actually becoming a magician.
