The "new" bikes

Postby TheStoner » Mar 30th, '10, 16:56

I know I'm a bit late with this but I just got my first brick of the "new" bikes with the redesigned card box. They're horrible! The box itself looks cheap and tacky and, worst of all, doesn't match Extractor any more. And then the cards - a very different feel, slightly thinner and less "glossy". Yeuch! Not keen on the Phoenix decks so I suppose I'll just have to get used to them...

In the whole scheme of things I would suspect that the quantity that the USPCC sell to the Poker community will far outstrip what the magic fraternity buy.

I don't think that Poker players will be that discerning so I wouldn't expect a change back so it's something that we're gonna get used to.

I've got around 80 unoped decks of the old style left so at least that will keep me going for a while

I think in performance people will either not notice, or just assume you have a source for the old style cases.

I have got used to box and am not bothered either way.

But some of you might like to have a look here -

http://www.cards4magic.co.uk/acatalog/c ... Cards.html

If you scroll to the bottom cards 4 magic are selling spare cases (old style)

10 for £4.

The last lot of Bikes i ordered came in a different box again, this time with a gold outer border.

They were much better quality then the last few decks i've had.

And before anyone asks, no they weren't Richard Turner's Gold Standard decks. I didn't pay enough for those mo-fo's.
