No doubt many of you will have already discovered this but, in case you haven’t, here are the details!

Visit http://www.worldmagiccenter.com/Theory/ ... Magic.html and you can download/print off Al Schneider’s complete Theory of Magic. I haven’t read all of it yet (there are over 80 pages) and, whilst some of the content is obvious and almost condescending, there’s also a lot of it which is extremely useful. For a freebie (ignoring the cost of your paper and ink cartridge) it ought to be in every Magician’s library!

The 12 chapters and topics covered are:
Technology of Magic, Levels of Magic, Basis of Magic, Assumptions, Direction and Misdirection, Study of Motion, Clarity, The People Part, Magic Impact, The Kind of Magic You Do, Patter, Five Steps to Mastery.

Hi Paul... I tried your link but only got "The page cannot be found" message.

Would you mind checking it and reposting the link if necessary.

Many thanks... Tony

OK, try http://www.worldmagiccenter.com and then select The Theory of Magic and you should get there OK.

PS: You might also want to have a look at http://www.leirpoll.com for more on misdirection and other topics of interest - such as magic as a Martial Art.

I confess I've never thought of it in quite that way before but I guess I could go hit someone with my wand for the right amount of money!

Why not go the whole hog and tie two wands together with a small piece of string and hey presto... You've got Nunchuku!

BTW thanks... I found the link no problem, just me not opening my eyes!

No probs - glad you found Theory of Magic OK. I ploughed through a lot of it last night and, ignoring some of the more condescending stuff, there are some real gems in there which might already be understood but are worth repeating.

The leirpoll site is quite useful as well - I rather like the trick where a mouse trap finds the preselected, signed card with a mouse drawn on it. Different if nothing else!
