Just wanted to introduce myself

Postby mark78 » Mar 31st, '10, 13:48

Hello everybody!
My name is Mark , 32, from Germany and I love doing magic. I dont do magic for a living. I mostly entertain my friends and family at partys or so or my co-workers at work.
I mostly specialized on Card-Magic, because I always had a favour for Card-Games my whole life. I never leave the house without a deck of cards.
My girlfriend is somewhat like my assistant... She is the first to see new tricks I learned and she is kind of drawn to do magic herself (but luckily not card-magic, so we complement each other).
Ive been learning from Roberto Riobbis "Card College 1-5", which is really great to work with to learn all the basics.

Of course I always enjoy seeing a magic show myself and Im happy that doing magic myself hasnt killed the fun of seeing others doing magic, although I sometimes know how its done or if not I think about how things are done.

I found it very hard to find a good forum, where I can discuss with others about magic and I hope I found it with this forum.

Best Greetings from Germany,
Mark

PS:
As I dont want to break any rules here I would like to ask a questions:

Is it possible to discuss magic-tricks here? Not that I want to know the specific trick-secrets, but the problem is that I dont have a lot of money to buy all the tricks, that sound interesting to me, when I dont know if they are practical for me (especially if there is a gimmick involved)... We dont have any Magic-Shops here, where I could buy tricks and get the personal advice. So there is only Magic-Shops in the internet for me... And I dont want to buy anymore tricks that are maybe great, but dont fit in my style or are unpractical for my routines.

Hiya Mark welcome to TM.

You can talk trcks so long as you don't give away any secrets. The reviews section is great for getting other peoples views on what to and what not to buy.

I'd say ask away and fear not, if you ask a question that crosses the line we will let you know.

Enjoy your time here
