Awesome out of this world routine COSMOS

Check out the reviews at the site. I have quite a few colour separation effects but this one is by far the best IMHO. Can be performed straight away from a borrowed shuffled deck.

THis looks very good - how would you rate it on a scale of 1 to 5 for difficulty?

It is very easy to perform, no sleights at all. You will be performing it as soon as you have seen the video.

Pegasus,

Have you actually got this effect, or are you just going on the blurb ??

I have the effect. The video demo is a little mis-leading, as are many. This version requires that you do it on 2 people at once but it is my fave OOTW routine. In the video you do not see the second person. It is going to be up-dated.

I have seen the advertising blurb for this and watched the demo, although I am not sure how much store can be taken from the demo as it freely admits it isn't what is actually happening, just how the spectator is expected to remember it.

I am still not convinced that we actually need another version of OOTW. There are several great ones out there already, some impromptu some designed for table hopping so does cosmos really bring anything new to the table (see what I did there?)

I have heard that one criticisim of cosmos was that main effect - I assume cosmos itself, needs to be done with two spectators. This as I said has received a lot of criticism elsewhere, However I actually see this as an advantage. If I am performing OOTW - as I do, then it would be much better for me to have more than just one spectator actively involved.

I suspect that this is actually quite a strong version of the effect. I am just not sure that it is needed if you already have a workling impromptu version. If the price was $10 and not $20 then I would be more inclined to download it and to try it out as it is I am a little reluctant.

I too would be very interested to read a review from someone that actually owns it.

The need for a second spectator is not divulged in the video and in my opinion is misleading. Having looked at the demo for OOTW I agree with bananafish and at a much cheaper download price, OOTW is my preferred purchase.

Phew, glad I followed this thread and saved some money!

Well I have spent alot more on a lot worse believe me. You can perform it with just the one spec, and you are the other spec. Or as I have done it, get the spec to sort out his 2 piles first, then he sorts out the other 2 piles. Both methods work quite well.

The thing I love about this effect is that I can perform it straight away from a borrowed shuffled deck, no problem.

Before I end up persuading too many people not to buy this, it should be remembered that I don't actually own the effect, all my comments so far have been based soley on what I have read elsewhere and from the information on the website.

If it is a version of OOTW then let's face it, we can probably assume it is an extremely strong effect without knowing anything else about it. If it can be done completely impromptu with a borrowed shuffled deck, then it is that much stronger for it.

I really didn't mean to put anyone off who is thinking of buying this, as for all I know it is the definitive version.

It should also be remembered that Pegasus likes it and he is the only one here that owns it so far, so what he has to say has to carry more weight than what I have to say.

However as a self confessed CUPS sufferer I have to try and justify all my magic purchases, and do I need to learn a variation for an effect that I am already quite happy with?

It will be interesting to hear from more people that own it.

I don't think I know this version, but as I've said before, elsewhere, Paul Curry updated the original version of OOTW to use a borrowed deck. That is the only version I use. Its top notch.

I don't own Cosmos or OOTW but am interested in buying one or the other. Perhaps someone could give a little insight into OOTW?

Other than the Paul Curry version I am assuming that you can't perform with a borrowed deck. True or False?

With OOTW, is the deck preset or can it be shuffled by the spec?

Advice appreciated as I'm interested in buying.

Thanks

There are many many variations of OOTW. It can be performed with a borrowed shuffled deck, although not as written up in it's original form, although after saying that Paul Curry added an impromptu handling.

Certainly the COSMOS version would appear to possible with a borrowed shuffled deck, but then again so do many others
