Bricks and Mortar Magic Shops

Postby Bertoneski » Apr 12th, '10, 15:08

I know of International Magic and Davenports in London

And The House of Magic in Stourbridge?

How many other bricks and mortar magic shops are there left in the UK?

I really meant high street shops and not industrial units...

Mike Danatas Magic Studio in Boscombe, Bournemouth is an Aladdin's cave of magic and is one of the very few REAL magic studio's still in existance.

Magic Box in Percy Street, Newcastle do a fair range but very little of it is on show as their main market is fancy dress. You really need to look at their web site before visiting and know what you want to look at. This is a bit of a shame for visiting magicians although it does help with the CUPS.

It's not really an optical illusion - it just looks like one!

I wondered what all the hubbub was in the background whenever I phone them. So, it's full of Toons trying on French maids' uniforms and cowboy outfits?

They are also split into fancy dress/magic but the magic studio LOOKS like it's a magic studio. It's dark & filled with books, great.

Is the magic bit not in the main shop? If not, how would I get in?

I know this is a slightly old thread, but I wanted to put in a word for Magic Cave in Covent Garden. Technically not bricks and mortar because they are a cart! But the folks there are real gents. I popped by this afternoon as I was taking a youth group around Covent Garden, and Lee actually gave me a DVD to go with a wallet I bought off him about a year ago. Very kind of him - and the kids were well impressed I knew the man that had been wowing them with his dems. I was just sorry they only bought a few things between them!
