i was wondering is it safe to do things like this http://www.channel4.com/entertainment/tv/microsites/M/mindcontrol/video/ (click the reading minds clip) to your freinds and family, that is if you can pull it off?

You could try, however, I doubt that it would accomplish anything more than making you look a bit odd. You really need to be good at this sort of thing (psychology, influencing another person) to make this sort of psycho-magic work.

EDIT: Oh, and I wouldn't recommend practicing Blockhead on any family and friends...

Blockhead.

Derren takes a hammer and nail. He hits the nail into he nose. Removes the nail, then prooves that it was a real nail by hitting it into a block of wood.

this is safe as its not hypnotism your mearly making an auto suggestion heres an example, before you go on stage my lovely assistant talks to you about the beach were she grew up and tells you all about how nice and shiny it was and how so hot it was.
later i get you on stage and present you with three objects an ice cream cone a umbrela and a football.
i ask you to mentaly picture a time when you felt warm and comftable were you were in good company and then in this relaxed state pic and object and if you are in sink with me you win £20.

you would naturaly lean towards the icecream cone.

phew, lol i was kinda worried about doing it, AFTER i had doen it a few time (not sure why after though :P) but good to know its safe, im thinking of doing a routine where i leave a red card in a blue deck and show them the back of it and then get them to think of any card (obviously the card i want them to think of) and then show them thats the card they mearly thought of was the red card, sound like a good idea?

monsterz - no forces in this trick :D.

It's much smarter than that, and relies on an old but ingenious gimmick that I'm sure can be found in every house in England (well, almost every house - it's in every Staples for sure though).

I'm just confusing you more, aren't I? It's true, though :!:.
