Derren Brown Tour Dates - 2005

Postby Mandrake » Nov 22nd, '04, 11:55

As there’s still no news of Derren’s 2005 Tour dates posted on his website, (oh yes there is!) I’ve been trawling the forum attached to it (you really ought to see some of the crud posted there!) and there are a few dates/venues known already, some of which are already selling tickets, the rest claim no knowledge of tour dates as yet. If you want Santa to bring you some tickets then the best advice is to phone the nearest theatre where he appeared this year and see if they have any news.

(Rest of message removed for being now way out of date and the following list is much more inclusive and helpful!)

An award I am very happy to win even though I spent bl**dy ages sorting that list out from the DB Forum - I knew I should have waited! (And there's still a load of stuff on that forum you wouldn't believe - or which would be allowed on TM!) I've removed my list in favour of yours as it's far more informative, many thanks for the update!

PS Sorry to hear no London dates yet but, as the tour traditionally finishes in the West End, plenty of time yet!

So very, very true! In more ways than one, I suspect.

He always announces the London dates after all the rest, but it's flipping annoying nonetheless.

Believe it or not, Mrs.Mandrake is in the vicinity of The Alex right now and will be calling in (on behalf of Santa, of course) so thanks again for the info. Shame about the delay in getting the London dates but it's probably quite a complex business one way or another. Perhaps all those on TM who are mentalists should combine their forces and send out vibes to encourage early publication of the dates. Or possibly we could write to him?

Advance word from Santa's camp tells me to not make any arrangements for Friday evening April 22nd 2005. I wonder why?

I'm going to see Derren in May at The Regent, Ipswich!

Just had to shout it - I'm that excited! I never saw him last year as I had no-one to go with...

I love my girlfriend SO much...

I should have thought to post about this the other day.

Zack, the announcement was made on Derren's forum.

forumadmin wrote:THERE WILL BE NO LONDON RUN.

So best to catch him on tour! Derren's producers realised it was a bit ambitious given his impossible schedule, to expect him to have a brand new show touring next year. So by not having a London run this year, it allows him to extend this tour into a shorter tour in 2006, followed by a London run then.

Don't be too disappointed - no performer comes into London every year with a new show, let alone one as overworked as our DB. Please check the tour list to see if you can make any of the other dates.

FA

The lateness of the message has made a lot of people angry with Derren's management (not with Mr Brown himself). Even some people who are seeing the show elsewhere found the timing and attitude bad.

As mentioned above, it's apparently very difficult to get tickets. The only practical alternative for me falls on a date I can't do without letting down some friends, which I'm not prepared to do.

Yes, sorry for not updating, but apparently the real reason that it was announced there wouldn't be a London run, was that they had trouble getting hold of a theatre. He's playing 31st May to 18th June inclusive, at the Cambridge Theatre.

Is the Cambridge Theatre in Cambridge by any chance *crosses fingers anxiously*?

Corn Exchange then?
