Does anybody know a place where I can find some ungimmicked card magic DVD's, Instructions, or anything? (maybe even a website...)
Thanks in advance!

Allan ackermans "las vegas card expert" dvd is ungaffed cards.

Computer games don't affect kids; I mean if Pac-Man affected us as kids, we'd all be running around in darkened rooms, munching magic pills and listening to repetitive electronic music. - Kristian Wilson, Nintendo, Inc, 1989..

for ungimmicked cards instructions why not just buy a book? the majority of card books deal mostly with ungaffed cards...

Complete Walton- Roy Walton
any thing by Darwin Ortiz
anything by Allan Ackerman
Expert at the card table- Erdnase
anything by Ed Marlo
Royal road to card magic- Hugard and Braue
etc etc

what do you mean by un gimmicked card tricks?
A good 80% of card magic uses un gimmicked cards.
Royal road for example, i dont think that there are many effects using a gimmick.

What do you have against a gaffed card anyway?

By "ungimmicked cards", I meant "ungaffed".(no doublebacked/doublefaced cards!) I don't have anything against gaffed cards... I just like to have the ability to walk up to a poker game, and with somebody else's cards say, "Hey... watch this!" I'm 15, so alot of people underestimate my skills and think that there is some kind of trick in the cards! I used to get asked at almost every performance to hand out the cards for examination! This doesn't happen as frequently, now that I've made a name for myself in this area.

I use some gaffed cards, but I mostly rely on my sleight of hand, and card control. Anyway, Thanks everybody for all of your help! I'll check out some of those books! Oh yeah... and if somebody else STILL has another source to add... suggestions are always welcome! My repertiore is quite large for card tricks, but I'd rather have 20 KILLER effects than 5 KILLER, and 50 good effects. Right now, though, I think I should try to learn some coin stuff, too, so I'm not limited to JUST cards!

try your local libary then your local book shop, kids magic books have loads of card tricks and basic coin magic in them.

I like spectators to ask me if they can shuffle or examine the cards.

I don't mean to be rude but if already use and are knowlegeable in sleight of hand and card control then let them examine the cards, it will make your effect stronger! Just use a standard glimpse, glimpse their card and then let them shuffle or examine the cards to their hearts content!

All the books and sources already mentioned use ungaffed cards in the effects...! :)

I've been looking through the libraries around my area, and have only found kids' books! :x It teaches basic sleight of hand, but I'm WAY past basic. I guess I'll have to order some books... cause I already cleaned out the local magic shop on books, and used the information in them to it's fullest!

It's not that I don't let them examine the cards... In fact, now I offer to let them examine them. I just mentioned the whole examining situation to explain why I was looking for ungaffed effects!

I don't see the problem here :? Mastering the basic controls in Royal Road will let you do just about anything you want to do for punters, even with a borrowed deck (unless its one that has been used by the card players for the last 10 yrs and is 2 inch thick cos of all the beer the cards have swallowed).

All you need for card magic with everyday punters is basic control. Fancy effects are only needed to fool other magicians, its way above the normal spectators heads.

Timeout :!: This topic has turned into something I didn't mean for it to be. If you read the first post, all I wanted was some new effects using a normal deck of cards... I don't have a problem with control... I just wanted some new effects! :D

Ok sorry I must have got the wrong end of the stick, but I think you will find that most books on card magic is for ungimmicked cards, you will probably have a much harder job finding a book on gimmicked card magic! :)

ok.. in this thread youve had plenty of books pointed out to you that will give you as many effects as you could EVER hope to use.. to learned half of these to any standard would take the average person YEARS.. but still you keep asking for more sources... now i could be wrong but to me (and this is only my opinion) it would appear that you are fishing for websites that offer methods to effects for free...that is NOT what this site is about. If you are actually "AMAZING" with cards as you pointed out in your first post then im sure you'll have no problem in making your own effects so i ask please stop fishing for freebies
