Andy Nyman's version on Get Nyman is really nice too and worth a look at.

It isnt automated, John emails it over when he is at is desk - remember he is a busy worker so it may take a day or two

Just received it :)

It looks like a great idea and I feel ashamed I didn't think of it myself. My only worry is finding the right envelopes :)

Ryman's, Staples, W.H.Smith and many other stationers sell appropriate envelopes - and in a variety of colours as well!

I think I have the right envelopes now, I seem to have made a gimmick which works on them. It seems like a very good and solid routine.

Ideas for things to name each envelope:

Michael Jackson
Empty
Cash
Bomb
Sex with a five hookers

I think the chances of puns will be very high.

Great. I spend £60 on CUPS over the past couple of days and someone posts that there's a Bank Night routine as good as or better than Osterlind's (my fave).

bu**er! :D

carefull....Thats too much like john's routine. the gimmick offers a huge range of possibilities, without using words.

Any suggestions? I want something more interesting than colours or whatever. Rude words or body parts deffinetly allows for more comedy, but in a way it looks "less real".

isnt that a little low grade for the mensa set?

not got john archer's effect, so i don't know the relevance of the names...however, as for presentational angles - what about the five senses? or the elements that make up an IQ test? visual/spatial awareness and so on?

would different art movements/styles work too?

Bryn Reynolds Bank Night from Safwan Papers is the BEST I have seen. It is so good, Richard Osterlind included it on one of his Dvd's! Very clean, impossible, straight forward and very adaptable! Oh, and it can be done impromptu.

If it needs envelopes, its not impromptu.

And ofcourse Iain if I was doing it for my club I would not have one of the envelopes labeled "Pussy" now would I? :p

?????????? So you're looking for impromptu?

Envelopes are found everywhere and anywhere!

And remember Tom, impromptu in Magic and Mentalism applies to the spectators view, not to us. Sure, we can give demonstrations naked, but think of the amount of time, energy and heartache each "impromptu" effect has been through. The very fact that a naked test of mentalism or magic has been scripted, or rehearsed invalidates your notion of impromptu.
