The effect According to the product description:
"A card is selected, signed and returned to the deck
The deck is placed on to the table and mysteriously cuts itself to the chosen card!
No threads, magnets or hook-ups!
Easy to perform and ready to go! "
I can't give you a link to this as I purchased this from eBay (it is frequently listed). However the product description and packaging states it is an old Alakazam Trick
Ease of performance = 2
(1: Easy 5: Hard)
The technique to get the deck ready is very simple, but to perform the action in order to make the cut look convincing I'd say it has to be at least a 2.
I'd just like to point out a few things about this trick as I know a lot of you use eBay. I have previously seen this sell on eBay for upwards of £15. (sometimes for a lot more).
In my opinion I feel that the product description is misleading. Although it is by Alakazam, the seller (in my opinion) is providing copies of the instructions, re-packaging it with a colour copy of the original packaging, and is making the gaff himself.
Secondly, the actual trick requires one to hold the deck, and then the mysterious cut occurs. In my opinion, that is not how the item is described – it reads as if it happens without holding the deck.
Thirdly, I'm just not convinced that the effect is that strong. To me, it's blindingly obvious how this works. I'd be very interested in hearing from others that have this trick or have used the same principle (old method is to use a small coin).
Overall I'd give this a dissapointing 3 / 10.
MODS - I hope I haven't given too much away in this post - but if you feel I have, I'll understand why this could be edited.
Thanks,
