Nah... I voted for Turkey.

Deutschland won, which wasn't bad, cos it was the other decent song in the competition.

And Turkey came second.

Not that I care, you understand.

Looks like you're all on your lonesome Pete!

PS I see the UK ended up supporting everyone else...from last place again... time we stopped pretending we stand any chance in this annual expensive farce...

The reason the UK never wins is because the songs it enters are pants.

Turkey put forward one of its most beloved rock bands. We comissioned mssrs Stock and Waterman to produce some by-the-numbers Euro pop pap that nobody would ever pay attention to outwith the Eurovision context.

As for Eurovision itself, it's stupid, predictable and outrageously expensive. But so is Eastenders. If we're going to put lowbrow wastage up against the wall, please let Albert Square take the first bullet! :)

The German girl with all the teeth looked like the only one who was genuinely enjoying herself.

The UK's entry sounded like a Steps demo and the backing singers were noticeably flat. :(

I quite liked the lad from Belgium, and appreciate how hard it is to stand there with only a guitar.

I really liked the girl from Azerbajahn(?) The future Mrs Webb me thinks.

I liked the German girl until she started speaking :D
And Yes We lost cos the song was pants.

I only watch it for the voting.

I think they should scrap the singing and just vote for which country we like best. The result would be roughly the same.

Come to think of it.... are they all voting for Germany 'cos its bailing out their economies ?

I think that they should change the rules to allow you to vote for yourselves. That way we would have doubled our points.

I can't fathom these people who have Eurovison party's each year and sit around for three to four hours for the inevitable doom and gloom of coming bottom.

No matter how good the song, the rest of Europe just hate us Brits!

Definitively wrong my friend.
Don't worry! :)

I guess we (as Germans) have to carry a historical burden that makes it difficult to achieve an unprejudiced view on ourself often times.
The impression you offer (in Germany at least) is a quite positive one for sure.

Cheers
Th.

As illustrated by the way in which Germany was completely ignored by Israel?

Don't worry... Turkey was also blanked by Greece and Cyprus.

At least Old Blighty can use a pants song as our excuse for being ignored by the rest of the continent... :)
