ripper seance may 29th a review

Postby daleshrimpton » May 31st, '10, 19:41

Well.... what a good day. What a good night.

The sign of a good day, is that it goes swiftly, and this was the case with the seance workshop, run by Paul, and Chris.

through out the day, practical things were explained, including glass movement, table tipping, and pendulum work. Also an in depth discussion on the ethics of spirit work.

but it was the evening that we were all working towards that would provide some shocks and surprises.

one part of the evening involves past life regression, and the volunteer took us back to some disturbing dark places.
glass movement also proved interesting. It became clear that two different entities were around. one quite boisterous, the other quiet and weak.

it also took a liking to one of the ladies.

table tipping next. If you remember last time i went, the table took to pinning me against the wall.
this time, it threw itself across the room, some times, all 4 legs fully off the floor.
trust me, id never buy a losander table, when the "spirits" can do it gimmick free.

he climax of the evening, was the Dark seance.

4 ladies sitting at the table, with the rest of us sitting in a circle.
the table vibrated..... smells of lavender, and dirty nappies was reported.... orbs sited... faces seen.... and once again, a voice in the dark spoke low....
Two,or three entities were felt to be present. who or what were they? who knows.
but when the name of Dan Leno, who's spirit is reported to haunt the near by theatre royal, in Drury Lane was mentioned things picked up a pace.I was kicked, and felt heavy dancing steps right in front of me.Leno, was a clog dancer.
In Closing, Lets say that I dont think it was the dead..but what it was, was spooky, entertaining, and it makes you think....

if you get the chance to see Paul's seance in action..go!

Just to second Dales review above, it was enormous fun in the company of very convivial hosts Paul and Chris.

Recommended.

(for those North of Watford, Paul's holding another workshop/lecture/performance + ghost walk this Friday in Nottingham: http://www.seancenights.co.uk/june_4_workshop_15.html )

Edit: D'oh. Just noticed that Paul links to the event in his signature line. Recommendation remains though :)

Do you fancy reviewing murder most foul as well before I part with my money.

Its very inexpensive...get both. :)

Murder most foul is referenced in the seance book, as something you could add if you wanted more.

Though why you would is beyond me. :)

I was thinking to have it alongside from hell rather than a full seance.

That would work too.
In fact, the life regression part of the ripper seance, is very much like the The Whitechapel Messiah.

Because Messiah is more of a magical effect than anything in seance, which is 100% "Trick" free, i would strongly sugest that you get this first. Then if you want to go deeper... invest in seance. :)

( B.T.W some items from "from hell" are used in seance to set the scene )

and this is the book that you get all the duplicate letters and original newspaper pull outs as props, that we had on the night.
