Balls for the Cups and Balls..

Postby donpisci » May 30th, '10, 20:54

Hi folks,

I was wondering if anyone knew where I could get some cool balls for the cups and balls? The only ones I've seen are a set of miniature tennis balls and the Michael Ammar mini baseballs. They don't have to be chop- cup balls either.

Thanks!

They're just about the most comprehensive supplier of balls in the UK for putting in cups

I've recently been looking for balls for a combo set which are:

BRIGHT - more visible for a stage performance than the typical dull red ones.

BIG - Again for visibility's sake.

THE RIGHT STRENGTH - for the chopped balls, allowing me to do pick-ups from stacks, but also detach it for reveals without denting the table...

And I found this site

Their goods aren't cheap, and they're based in the US, but their range is extensive and they seem to tick all the right boxes. Their chopped balls can seemingly have their strength adjusted (possibly by changing the distance of the gimmick to the surface of the ball).

I've ordered some one-and-an-eighth-inch straight and chopped balls in parakeet blue. I'll report back on them when they arrive.

Pete

I had lost part of my Chop Cup stuff, cue an order for a 4 pack in red. Much easier to work with than the originals that were with the cup, and I still have a white original here that I can also incorporate somehow.

Next question is, is it too cliche to have an 8 Ball as the final load?

when performing to lay people you can have anything for your final load, including an 8 ball.

I'm slowly leaning away from the 8 Ball (or indeed any other from my pool ball collection) purely because it's so unreliable to do it undetected. I'm tempted to only perform this to people wearing headphones and listening to Rammstein...

Why does no-one ever use the next effect as the final load? A pack of cards for example, or
some sponge balls, rubber bands etc. :?

Because it's a bit of an anti climax. Unless your next routine involves large solid balls.

Might I suggest the bucket section of B&Q?

I may just add that somebody recently posted a routine on here that used a bucket, or a champagne bucket thingy that the final load was a coconut.
