Ok as a newbie I'm interested in the trick where you borrow a £5 note and after a few folds unfold it to reveal it has changed to a £10.
Also one where you fold then tear a piece of paper and unfold it again to reveal it is undamaged.
I would appriciate any advice on what these tricks are called, where i could buy/learn them.

most books will teach you at least one version, mark wilsons complete course in magic for example has a torn and restored bill on page 225.

try Kevin King's money morph, or (without giving it away) buy a tt and practise the switch

Losanders Magic Anytime, Anywhere DvD has instruction on the morph and a few other handlings. Well worth the money as a beginner mate. Has a few other easy tricks with money too.

Inside Magic DvD has a haunted bill routine in which your note folds into quarters by itself, you can then (with a little practice) demonstrate the true spookiness of that note by going into the morph and showing the note to change.

Another great piece of visual money changing magic is Richard Sanders - Slow Burn. I have it reviewed somewhere on this site so just do a search for SLOW BURN. With a pass of the hand the money changes cleanly and visually.

As a newbie, which you say you are, then the above book isn't a bad read at all.
