Who cares that he exposed a trick? Does it effect us? I was a little unhappy because he didn't seem to be listening to anyone, but I really don't mind now, I've had my mini-rant, and so has everyone else. So lets just stick to congratulating him on his performance! :D

I Got First Place in the Talent Show

Postby Allen Tipton » Jun 3rd, '10, 14:29

And wisely, for his young years, Narutodude has cut the 2 pieces of Magic he was not happy with. Thus, mistakes are not in the Public's, ever inquisitive & gazing eyes!

You Tube can be a Great Showcase and, very sadly, a Great Exposure Place for Magic

And Yes, I am in touch with him; constructively & creatively criticising this Act; his stage personna and to help advance his future performances.

just holding my hand up AGAINST what you did........... not wanting to do the whole exposure thing ... but... i spent a lot of time, money and reading to learn all these things so that i could entertain/amaze laymen... but you amaze them by making everything i've ever done a total waste of time..... you should just go to youtube with the rest of the disrespectful !!! you make me boil!!

TaffWelshman (Taff-is this PC?) can you explain what on earth you are talking about?
What the lad has put on You Tube is simply an edited version of the 5 mins. he was allowed.

I think he thinks that he exposed all of the effects. He did not, he only exposed one body trick that most know already.

I Got First Place in the Talent Show

Postby Allen Tipton » Jun 6th, '10, 10:53

Well Leo was obviously nervous as one would be, first time in front of the entire school, staff, parents & friends.
There was a quick flash at the end of the Colour Changing Silks.
Too much turning away to pick up and discard stuff (a fault with many magicians) from the, borrowed & too large a table.
No smile -- very serious but as he has told me--first time nerves.
Not much looking at (eye contact) the audience,to build their reactions.
These things I have already pointed out to him.

BUT-- and this was a first time on stage --the whole routine swept along at a great pace & there was no hesitation in the handling of, or following up, with the next effect.
Would that a lot of magicians might pace their Acts up.

As a Congratulations-- I have sent him a top quality 18 inch set, of Colour Changing Silks & a couple of other props that will fit what he wants to do.

Thanks everyone! As Allen said, this is my first time performing on stage (other than rehearsals). I'm going to try volunteering at hospitals or nursing homes over the summer to gain some more experience.
