Big Brother

Postby Discombobulator » Jun 10th, '10, 02:35

I am absolutely not stopping up till silly o'clock watching Big Brother every night. OK ?

I am only up at this hour because I have emails to check and I'm reading the BB gossip sites.

The fact that the telly is on and its showing streaming BB is purely coincidental and I will be going to bed any hour now.

oh her...

the backing singer on x factor.

what ever happens the press will eat her alive when she comes out.

She will become the fame hungry wana be... who releases a record.. perfect fodder for the tabloids.

regardless of how good she sings, and how long she has been singing.

As Magician and Mentalists Big Brother should be all part of our study!! its the best oppurtunity for to be able to see how easy it is to manipulate people...Ive gained no end of ideas on manipulation for my act from watching it........yes forget about the stupid tasks etc but look at how character change and develop and how people can turn on each other, and why that happens...study it ull be suprised what you will gain from it.

I've never watched it either; I can't think of any reason why I'd want to watch the kind of people who want to be watched on Big Brother.

I remember reading in the paper about the original Big Brother -- in Sweden, I think it was -- and its purpose as a serious experiment in social psychology among a group of people cooped up together for an extended period of time. No stupid stunts, no freakshow, just ordinary decent people trying to get along in unnatural circumstances.

Now, that sounded interesting at the time, and still does.

I've never had any desire to watch the British bastardisation of it.

The first UK series was interesting because it was without precedent over here, especially when Nasty Nick Bates was "tried" and found guilty of cheating by the group. Every second of every series after that has been completely redundant and unwatched in this part of Darkest Cheshire.
