New non-magician. Hi everyone

Hope I'm getting this post set up right.. I'm not much of a foum-junkie. (well, unless you count lurking).
I stumbled across this site looking for something else, and got sucked in.
I am a luthier, an Alaskan, and I hadn't thought about magic in probably a decade until I recently discovered Penn and Teller.

Performing magic doesn't really appeal to me, but the mechanics (physical and psychological) behind tricks, and the creativity required to come up with some of this stuff really does. (in the same way that I have no talent at playing music, but love building musical instruments and listening to others play them!)

Maybe I'll try my hand at building tricks, or maybe I'll just enjoy watching, but in any case I'm here! Hello everyone :)

Hi and welcome! There's a very good chance that at some future point you'll have read enough and probably built enough to feel confident at a bit of performing so when that moment arrives don't hold back, just go for it!

welcome 8)

There are lots of people around with creative minds who don't perform but contribute in other ways.

I started performing with just a single card trick I showed close friends and family. But then I learned some more, got some props, and now I perform for large groups of friends and youthgroups. Next Wednesday I'm doing a little show for an audience of about 30 people. Not exactly the Vegas Strip, but I'm getting there lol. Just be confident, and you'll be performing in no time :D
