Gospel Magic(ian)

Hi all,

I'm a vicar type what also does magic. Initially I used it in all-age (family) services as illustrations and the bug bit. Started by making own tricks and props and then expanded (if that's the right word) into vanishing bandana, diebox, crystal tube, escapology then entered my sad world (handcuffs, try convincing the hardware shop that you're a vicar and you need padlocks for your restraints to use in church - they give you funny look :-) ).

I've joined some secular clubs and patter, misdirection (and inventing) are a big part of who and what I am and do. so that's me basically - working hard at Charming Chinese coins, enjoying torn and restored anythings and experimenting with magnets and electronics for ropes, metalism and weird and wonderful stuff.

I love this stuff, keeps me (in)sane :-)

Greetings and welcome! As a long standing (and suffering!) Churchwarden, I can't see the problem with clergy buying handcuffs - all perfectly normal in my experience!

You might want to check out the thread re St.John Don Bosco ( http://www.talkmagic.co.uk/ftopic4237.p ... =don+bosco ), Patron Saint of Stage Magicians – great ammo to use with anyone who thinks magic and Church don’t mix.

Thnaks for your comments, forgot to add that I'm about a mile form the centre of the country as I'm situated in Tamworth (they thought it was Meriden before they did the satellite calculations apparently!).

Anyone in my vicinity what wants to talk magic or the like give me a shout.

Hi and welcome to talkmagic.

You may want to check out the sites of Duane Laflin and David Ginn. Both excellent magicians in their own right, but they are both also big in the world of gospel related magic.

Hello and welcome. I live in Solihull myself so we're not too far away from each other in fact.
