Introducing myself.

Postby AndyHurst » Apr 26th, '05, 23:56

Hi,

I'm Andy from Somerset, UK. I'm 35 and have been doing magic just about my whole life. I've been back in the UK for a couple of years after spending almost 5 years living in the USA where I made some great magic friends and got to session with some great people.

I am currently performing on a semi-pro basis, I do the occasional lecture (hope to do more) and have written a book called 'Project Latnem' which is out May 9th.

I perform platform/caberet and close-up. I love mentalism but don't have a serious mentalist act. I do a lot with cards.

I won't ramble on and on - if you want to know more you can ask.

Andy.

Hi Andy, welcome to the forum, I am a mostly interested in close-up cards, coins etc. I also have an interest in metalism but not much experience of that!

I am not too far from you so if your down my way, or I am up your way maybe we could get together sometime....I will look forward to your posts, take care Jack

I hope it's OK to post that, I don't want to get flamed for advertising on my first two days here LOL.

It was due to ship 9th May, but they've arrived early from the printers and are shipping already.

Thanks to everyone for the kind welcome messages.

Andy

Sure - PM me or email me andy@andyhurst.com and we can try and work something out. Are you going to the Bristol Day of Magic by any chance?

No problems that I can see! You might want to encourage some Reviews of the items shown on that link - they sound intriguing to say the least.

Hi Andy and welcome. I look forward to reading your posts as it's always nice to hear from a working magicians perspective

The book is due to be reviewed by David Regal for Genii magazine, Steve V on magicbroadcast and Tony Miller for Channel One magazine. Also I think someone on one of the magic forums said they are going to post a review.

Most of my contacts are in the USA as I lived there for almost 5 years, but I'm going to contact Abra magazine and try to get a UK review too.

If anyone can point me in the direction of UK magic publications that I might contact other than Abra, please let me know.

Andy.
