Anyone from Hampshire/Southern Surrey area?

Postby Just Steve » Apr 16th, '10, 21:38

Just trying to find out if any of you live near me, im about half an hour from both Portsmouth and Guildford.

I should have another car on the road soon and was wondering if any of you held meetings within reasonable distance of me?

I know im new to all this, magic that is, and im sure it would really help me build up some confidence in my ability to perform if i could meet some of you and learn the ropes, as it were.

Not that far from London either, about an hour by car or train, but costs involved are far too high for me to make trips up there regularly.

Cheers,
Steve

Thankyou for both the offers guys, im sure i will take you up on them eventually, just need to get myself some decent transport sorted and i want to broaden my knowledge on magic a bit more before i start doing it outside of home.

Thanks a lot,
Steve

This may not be much help, but I am 10 minutes north of Guildford and would be up for comming along any meetings of this type. Although I am very amature at this point I'm picking things up(mainly card magic but I recently got inspired to try and learn some coin tricks)

theres been no interest in this by any of the parties involved which is a shame since I now have more time on my hands to mentor /give pointer too. :)

I'm have some interest in tuition, but I am still learning so much from books and DVD's that my current rate of progress is pleasing me.

Also I'd like to have my basics solid before I sort a master.

Would you really want a student that only knows a handfull of card tricks from the Royal Road?

Sounds good and I am interested, for the moment though my social schedule doesn't give me much chance to head down to Portsmouth.(Plenty of weddings and other events to attend)

I will get in contact with you but it may be in the middle of August.

Hi All

I'm in Southampton and starting out, I have some basic card sleights and just started playing with coins so I don't always have to have cards to play with. Struggling with coins atm but I've only been playing with them since Xmas. I started out as a juggler and fire performer but wanted to be able to do manipulations I could carry around a bit more easily than I massively heavy bag.
