The WOW2 that I saw demo'd was the card back in either red or blue Bikes.

I've never even heard of WOW blank.

WOW 2.0 is the rider back design instead of a card face.

I saw this demo'd last week at a World Magic Store dealer dem and it was visually stunning for all of the magicians so heaven knows what reaction you'll get from lay people.

Apart from the 'backs' version, is there anything significant you can do with wow 2 that you cannot do with wow (1)? I'm wondering why / if a wow 1 user should consider buying wow 2

I was able to see this in Action at a convention in LA. It takes the original WOW gimmick and really perfects the entire illusion. With both sides you can eliminate all suspicion. Nexus Magic Store has both videos up, seeing it first hand at the convention is what really sold me!

I found this on youtube and from what I understand of it - if you've got the original WOW, why bother spending an extra $40 (??), on something that doesn't really do that much more ............

the main problem I have with this trick is that while many people are saying it looks like real magic, if you could do real magic, you wouldn't need the sleeve. I see a lot of people thinking "i could do that if I had the sleeve". I know this applies to many tricks but this one logically couldn't be done without the sleeve (not this visually any way- it almost looks TOO good!) and I know lay people who have seen the trick, turned to me and said "meh, it's just a tricky sleeve".

IMO - Those are the type of people that have no respect for magic in the first place. They don't see it as an art form they see it as a way to make them feel stupid. One persons reaction to what Hundreds of magicians around the world who love the original WOW, and use this it there routines would disagree with you. - Like anything it's how you present it, and sell the effect.

Well what were you doing with the cards beforehand?
I do this as an anniversay waltz type of effect. What the couple end up with is a playing card with one of their signatures on the face, and one of their signatures on the back. Even though they swear blind that they both clearly signed two very different random playing cards. Just a few weeks back, I had a friend tell me that she still had the card her husband and her signed on their mantle.

The mai difference between Wow and Wow2 is that the newer version comes in two parts.

When joined togeather it's a sleeve like the earlier version of WOW but when taken apart the top can sit over the top of a card and work without the card being inserted. Therefore, you can use the top piece as a casino card marker which is how David Penn demo'd it.

Whil eI'm not that familiar with the earlier edition I'm assured that you can't do this with the first edition.
