I have a further announcement:

The Third Man is nearly sold out.

We will continue to provide the full kit (instructions and photos) until we've run out. PayPal keeps track of the numbers so if your order goes through you're definitely one of the 100 owners of The Third Man.

Due to the way that PayPal's inventory system works, we cannot make that guarantee while providing a separate option for buying just the instructions.

To avoid disappointment and problems with refunds we have decided to suspend sales of the instruction manual as a single item.

If you really want to buy the set of instructions without the photos please send us an email. If we still have stock we'll happily oblige.

The Third Man is bl**dy marvelous! Just brilliant, so if you don't own it by now, you'll be very, very, very, very sorry when it's sold out!

And not only can you perform it like Ted's basic manuscript, he also gives you plenty of other ideas that then trigger a lot more ideas to work on further. Congratulations Ted, brilliant job!

It sounds awesome. One question...

I would encourage you to take a less detailed view of the mechanics and focus more on the impact and presentational variations that The Third Man affords.

I ask because I didn't want to buy it and then find out that it's very similar to something I've already performed, based on a routine on a Banachek DVD... I'm not suggesting that it might not be a good effect. There's just no point buying something then realising you already do something similar.

Banachek did not mention any similarity to his own material when we saw The Third Man so I'd guess it is not the same.

I've got Banachek's PSI series, so I could check it's not the same, but as Ted says, the man himself saw it and didn't recognise it as a re-working of an existing method.

Well, it's been a surprising couple of months. I launched The Third Man at the beginning of May, promising to sell only 100 copies, and now I find that we're at the start of July and I have less than 6 left!

Sincere (very sincere) thanks to all who bought it. There's more in store for owners of the effect over the coming months. Oh yes, we have been developing...

For the rest of you:

a) There's still time (just)

b) Keep your eyes peeled for another rather special release this autumn. It's to do with photos, it'll be at least as flexible as The Third Man (but very different) and... that's all I'm saying for now.

The hand-numbered book included will doubtless become a collector's item

If we re-release The Third Man it will not be until August 2011. We may not re-release it at all, though.

It's been nearly a year since someone bought the last of the limited version of The Third Man. Since then I've received quite a few emails asking if a) it will be re-released and b) if it will be limited again.

We're been working on other versions of the kit and expect to launch a wallet-sized version, a Bizarre-themed version and we'll re-release the classic version.

The new and classic kits will not be limited in the same way as the first release. We may well run out of stock, of course, but that's a separate issue

Now, nothing is going to become available until mid-August 2011 at the very earliest, in accordance with our promise of exclusivity to the original buyers. We won't be taking pre-orders and we won't run a reservation list. I'll announce the launch on our mailing list and, most likely, here and on other forums.

This pre-launch period means that there is an opportunity for you to influence the design of the new products. What do *you* want to see? More photos? Different sizes? Different subjects? Let me know and we'll give all ideas serious consideration.

The bizarre version sounds interesting. Will that be wallet sized? I am always looking for good bizarre themed effects for strolling.

It could be. However, I was thinking along the lines of Victorian Cartes-de-Viste.

However, if enough people want Victorian photos the size of large stamps or business cards then that can be arranged.
