Buckle and Gemini Count

Postby JuanTheMan » Apr 28th, '05, 11:55

Hi everyone

I'm having trouble with buckling the bottom card (of four) when doing a gemini count. I hold the cards in my right hand and slide the corner diagonally with my right index. It invariably results in a longitudinal crease in the lower cards in the outer one-third. What am I doing wrong?

The cards are fairly new and slippery so I feel that I have to hold them firmly to ensure that the buckle occurs. If I don't hold them firmly, the cards end up spreading across each other.

Help - either here or via PM!!!

I am not sure if this is any help but a lighter touch might be in order! Just play with it and I am sure you will get it down! :)

I agree, if you find you are creasing the card then its def down to too much pressure. Try sliding the card less and more and gently squeezing so it bows. The slightest kink can be enough sometimes to form natural breaks etc so just play around!

Thanks for the tips. I've seen the move frequently on various DVDs and the professionals make it look sooooo easy! I know that they will have been doing it for years but it is frustrating. I guess it's like riding a bike - it'll suddenly click into place.

Is it on any of Michael Ammars card miracles? Michael is a very good teacher.

I'm fairly sure that he does the Twin on one of the ETMCM series. I know the routine and patter but need to perfect my handling of buckling number four in the packet without creasing. I think I will have to hold the cards less firmly but guess it's down to trial and error then lots of prcatice.
