When I last had my eyes tested I took a couple of the beyond ESP cards to the optician and she used them as part of the testing to see if I was happy with my new glasses.

p.s. I reminder her of patient confidentiallity and she was not to tell anyone.

Now that's dedication!

Maybe there's a market for mentalist bifocals.

I think Eshly, before you go looking for a deck with clearer markings, you should give the Beyond ESP cards more chance.

The markings are subtle, that is the true beauty of this deck. I have had a Fournier deck rumbled (once) but no spectator will ever rumble the Beyond ESP deck.

Dales recommendation to learn a card at a time is sound, after all there are only 5 to learn. I don't use this deck every time I perform so can get rusty with the marks. All I do is shuffle the cards and read them through from the back a few times and this sharpens up my eyes and my recognition.

You may find and easier to read ESP deck, in hy opinion you will never firnd a better one.

the way to learn them one at a time, it to start off with the un marked card, then compare each card in turn with that one.

you're like Yoda.you dont say much, but what you do say is worth listening to....

Ooh, this just reminded me.. Someone said there was a thread about glasses, but I must have missed it.
Anyway, I was sitting in a restaurant and the person sitting opposite me was wearing glasses (they were bifocals, don't know weather or not this is important) and some pretentious aristocratic buisness people came and infront of us (that is, with my friend facing away).. anyhow, somehow he could tell me what they looked like and he said it was the reflections in his glasses. Maybe, or perhaps in my frivolity I forgot there was a mirror behind me or something, but still.. I'm sure this is something people who wear glasses know about.

Sounds doubtful to me.

Unlikely as such lenses are curved and don't reflect much of the scene behind you. However you can buy sunglasses with flat lenses and with the outer 1/3rd of the inside of the lens having a mirror finish which enables you to see things going on behind you if you turn your head very slightly. Joke shops and seaside souvenir shops sell them and they're sometimes known as ‘Spy’ Glasses.

I still find these cards problematic and I've been using them on friends and family for three months. Having said that when I fail now and again it makes the effect seem real. I have 20/20 vision and it still doesn't help!

I use Vernet and Royal Magic ESP Cards

Are perfect for me really... the back from the Beyond 2 doesnt like me so much.

The original ones from Rhine have stars in the back.

I have 5 ESP Cards in my wallet and i have always something to share with anybody.

I've broken out my BESP2s for the first time in a long time for my ESP effect Fearful Symmetry. I too had always had problems with reading them quickly, but find now that I don't seem to have that much of an issue with them.

And if you want to have the (Royal) ESP cards look more official; buy the perfect tuck box: http://www.magicbycardmaker.com/pageID_9686178.html
