Hopping Halves uk Returning coins disappointment!!

Postby morrowsean » Jul 26th, '10, 12:27

Hi, I've just received a trick from E-magic, it's called "Hopping Halves UK returning Coins. After reading such great reviews on the site I thought that it was definatly for me. Once I received in post, I can't tell u how disappointed I am with it. Without giving too much away, the coins are very loose inside, so much so they are rattling around quite noisey, which also allows spectators to see a gap round the outside of the coin, giving the game away totally. Could someone please offer me their thoughts on this before I decide to return it to Emagic?

Thanks!!!

Well, I would bring it up with E before discussing it on an open forum.
:)
That said It's only 27 quid.

As we have said on other threads on here, you get what you pay for.
A really good hopping half set can set you back over 120 quid easy.

Looking at the demo, i would say that you might need to look at the handling a bit. But even ther set looks a bit loose.

I've already informed e-magic, I wouldn't be discussing it otherwise. I was just hoping to hear others opinions on it. Thanks for your reply!!

As stated above I think it's your handling.
When displaying the coins you are not meant to show them for long you just give a quick flash each side.
If they if easily that's a good thing and would make resetting in your pocket easier.

I paid about the same at Blackpool (which dealer is now lost in the fuzz of my mind) and they too are a bit rattley and you can "see the join".

But having been caught that way once I have developed a better angle to hold my hand at whn showing the coins and it seems to be going OK now.

Tis a combination. Yes you can get away with what you have through practice. AND you get what you pay for. As discussed on another thread gimmicked coins are hard to make really well and you pay through the nose for that level of craftmanship.
