Struggling with an effect? Any tips (without giving too much away!) you'd like to share?

Does anyone have any tips on 'undoing' the seams of an envelope? Apparently ironing them 'pops' them open, but I've tried that to no avail. I'm using pay-packet size brown ones, just big enough for a playing card, different envelope, hotter iron, steam?

Steam used to be the usual method of opening envelopes.

put your envelope and a small mug with some water in, inside a microwave.

Or a hair straightener works too.

Hair straightners work a treat. They also make your hair look awesome for the gig you use the envelopes at :D

If you're careful, you should just be able to pull them apart. It doesn't matter if they're not perfect as I assume that you're going to restick them again afterwards.

Fixed it.

Anyway, what effect are you after? There may be an easier way than surgery.

I need to write a prediction inside the actual envelope, so it needs to come apart & then be re-stuck

You could buy them if you can't be bothered making them
