Universal Pull

Postby dksokol » May 2nd, '05, 08:28

Hi there,

The Universal Pull has been sitting in my drawer since this year's Blackpool Convention. I use my TT for different effects (bill switch, salt vanish, vanishing hanky) in the restaurant setting but I'm thinking of incorporating my Pull into a routine. As I wear a jacket, I feel it woudn't be much of a hassle to add and may provide some good effects.

Now, I saw a demo video on another site and the guy clips his pull inside his jacket. I was told by the guy who sold me the gimmick to clip it at the back of my trousers (a few inches from the left hip). Where do you clip yours?

Do any of you use it in the restaurant setting? And, if so, how do you use it in your own routines? (if I may ask).

Many thanks for your help.

Daniel

I also have a Pull sitting idly in my drawer. I don't have a routine right now where I need it.

I think there are different strenghtes available and the best place to fix it depends on which strength you have. The instructions of my Pull recommend to fix it inside the jacket, somewhere up the sleeve. If I try to fix it to my trousers, it zips back with a loud snapping sound.

Probably someone with more experience can comment on the best place to clip and how to avoid snapping sounds?

Trousers, for me, and I didn't have a sound problem. There was only one effect I used it for and I haven't done it for years, so I can't be a lot of help in eliminating that problem.

The trouser set up has three big advantages. First, there's less chance of snagging. Second, it resets easily (not that this was relevant to me). Third, it's easy to steal in the first place.

The sleeve set up is much more subtle, though. If you didn't fancy something so showy, then the sleeve might be the way to go.
