A new Mortal Kombat movie...

Postby Matthius88 » Aug 2nd, '10, 12:36

Anyone who saw the original Mortal Kombat movies must be thinking "Oh god.... not again"

I say to you, reserve judgement on this one. The trailer looks fantastic, its a totally new take on the entire thing and going by this, I'm actually pretty excited to see a release date for this movie.

The original Mortal Kombat film was pure class - and the soundtrack was of equal quality: "A handful of people on a leaky boat save the world"?

"Exactly"!

Brill!! :)

That's not so much a trailer, as the entire thing.
It was just a short made to try to entice some studio to put money into financing a full feature, so we may never actually see any more of this.

It looked interesting my only problem was that they tried to make it more realistic and therefore made it more ridiculous. In many ways alternative realities and old gods make more sense than 'retractable blades surgically implanted in his arms.' What's Raiden going to be 'dude with taser'? Also since they can all be defeated by a gun, why doesn't Jax just use sonya to go undercover find out where the tournament is and shoot the winner once he comes out.

'Armed swat team wins flawless victory'.

Invoke not reason. In the end it is too small a deity.

Yeah, I know, but that's sort of what I meant when I said I'd be excited to see this get a date and go into production.

If it does get made, it MUST have the techno theme from the original movie. No matter what your tastes in music are, you hear that song once and it's in your head for weeks.

Indeed it was well made and a backstory to some of the more sadistic characters is great, but I don't get why they made Scorpion a good guy and Sub-Zero dead when it has been canon for that to be opposite.

Well, going against canon is fine. This could prove worthy if anyone picks it up.

Im going to nerd out a little here lol

Scorpion actually kills Sub Zero in the story line of the games, and SZ's brother takes over the role. He did this because sub zero killed all of Scorpion's tribe, which sent him over the edge or something.

It was all in one of the games back on the ps2.

I should really go outside more....
