I assumed there was no real way of lengthening a card, I have this daft image in mind of someone sweating away with a rolling pin trying to enlarge the card like pastry , but I'll happily be corrected on that point. Effectively, unless you buy a specially made long card, you have to trim the other 51 and it's much easier to just trim one for use as a short card.

I'm told that commercial printers have card cutting machines which can be used to trim a full deck so they might do the biz for a small-ish fee.

I guess that you could also use cards from another (slightly longer) deck, if your routine ensures the back will never be seen.

Phoenix do a Texas deck which I believe is slightly longer and wider than their normal decks.

I seem to remember that their long card is a Joker. When I asked a year or two ago they told me that only Jokers were available as long cards. Just worth bearing in mind...

I've had some success with inserting a stripper deck card into a regular deck, but it's quite a subtle difference, particularly if you have a well-made stripper deck. I'd go for a fully short card (cut straight across the short ends) to be confident.

Lionel Russell at TMC showed me a very simple way to make a single card that is long, wide and thick. Think about it.

uhm no, there is an easier way than cutting an entire deck, or buying another deck of different dimentions. Gary Oullet put out ProControl years ago (obviously years ago because he has been dead for quite some time) It was an expensive book and very thin. But the stuff that can be done with the long card was wonderful. Let me check to see if the book is still being offered, if not I will post a tip on how to make it, its real easy and costs less then a playing card.

Here are some hints, you can make one faster than I can type this sentence. You have the tools and the ability to make one. It is stupidly simple, and I'm sure Barry above me is thinking of the same method. You won't think it works, Eshly will hate it. But it really is a thing of beauty.
