Superstition holds that Friday 13th be a day of bad luck.
Some people are so paralyzed by fear on Friday 13th that they avoid their normal routines in doing business, taking flights or even getting out of bed.

If 13 people sit down to dinner together, one will die within the year.
If you have 13 letters in your name, you will have the devil's luck .
There are 13 witches in a coven.
Many buildings don't have a 13th floor or streets a house number 13.
Never change your bed on Friday; it will bring bad dreams.
Do not start a trip on Friday or you will have misfortune.

On Friday 13th August 2010, Martin Allan will be hosting "An Evening Of Uncomfortable Fun" with Bizarre Magick, Luck and Tempting Fate on Friday 13th........

Four acts featuring Bizarre Magick from Roni Razor, Escapology and Magic from Paul Cooke, The Odd Antics of Salamon and Martin Allan will be "Pushing His Luck!"

The Basement, City Screen, Coney Street, York Tickets £10.00 available from The City Screen Box Office (0871 9025726) or from www.thebasementyork.co.uk Doors open 8PM.

The Performers.

Roni Razor
Bizarre Magick is Roni’s first love. He strongly feels that with bizarre, more so than with any other realm of magic is there the presence and atmosphere of theatrical performance and the closest experience of “real” magic.

Paul Cooke
International Illusionist, Escapologist and Magician. Paul is also magical adviser to many theatre & television shows including Sorcerer’s Apprentice with Max Somerset for B.B.C.
Paul will hopefully be presenting his latest and most dangerous escape!! To be announced.

Salamon
Adrian Salamon has been performing Magic for 10 years. Whilst living in Cumbria he began working on a horror themed stage show with another magician playing events such as Solfest music festival. His passion is performing Cabaret and Close-up Magic “with a bizarre twist”....but does not entertain children’s parties.... “They are evil evil things!!”

Martin Allan
Close-up and Cabaret Magician for 20 years. “My main interest in magic is finding new presentations for classic effects, giving reason to the magic and not performing an effect as a trick for the sake of it! “The idea of a show on Friday 13th, based around Luck, Fate and the Weird really appealed to me and this year I decided to take a CHANCE!”. “I love taking a risk, with new and possibly dangerous ideas, we may be inviting some of the audience to face there superstitions and tempt fate”..........

Just had a photo shoot and an interview with one of the local papers. Usual request from them though. "Can you throw some cards in the air and wave some silk hankies around." I told them I wasn't that kind of magician and it wasn't suitable behaviour in a grave yard anyway.

I had some lucky objects with me, the photographer wanted to frame the shot with a horseshoe. He'd put it down whilst he sorted the camera and when he picked the horseshoe up he found a very old mud crusted pound coin under it. Quiet an odd thing to find in the corner of an old plague grave.

Show is on Friday, look forward to seeing some of you there.

Martin

The photographer got some really cool photo's of us looking menacing and playing cards in a graveyard etc.

We actually got front page and page 3. Local paper but still chuffed with that.

hope the radio interviews go as well......

As long as it's not the thought of travelling on Friday 13th...

I've just this moment got off the phone to Roni, who is still buzzing from a great night.
