Jumping Gemini

Postby pritch » May 5th, '05, 12:09

Hello. I have found a trick I really want to learn the routine of. Jumping Gemini. I already know some of the sleights but I really need to get a hold of this routine. I have searched around the forum and have found people saying you can get it in the book at the card table. Unfortunatly I'm in the UK as I guess most people here are and I can't find that book in the UK. So could someone please maybe give me that trick and I could give some a trick? Or I would even be willing to paypal a few quid or dollars for it. I am not a professional magician I just do magic tricks to amaze friends, mainly in between poker games to get them worried. I saw someone perform that trick on ebaums though and it was astonishing.

Thanks

Dave

If you watch the ebaums 'presentation' several times, you'll figure it out one way or another! They don't actually divine the card you select out of the five choices, they merely state that it's no longer in the spread of four cards shown.

the book is called "at the card table" and is by Darwin Ortiz you can buy it from most online magic shops.. magicbox.uk.com has it i think. There is also a video/dvd of the same title

We must be referring to different effects - the one I saw on ebaum ( http://www.ebaumsworld.com/magic/trick1.html ) which was as a result of ( http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-re ... m?t=331615 ) is a computer generated effect and doesn't involve sleights or any human involvement at all!

oh no lol those things are total c*** (not the best). Im refering to:

http://www.ebaumsworld.com/videos/cardtrick.html

and £27 for that book so I can learn one trick is a little pricey. Does nobody want to maybe swap a trick or something? I can do most of David Blaines tricks and a few card ones. Plus some paul zenon ones.

the book is definately worth the £27 , its a hard back book with maybe 20 or so effects and it explains most of the sleights needed for each of them. Also it reveals darwins method of getting a brand new deck into a Si Stebbins system with only a few shuffles (worth the price alone in my opinion)
so you wouldnt only be getting 1 trick for your £27

PLUS i will point out that this is not a site for trading secrets to effects.. if you read the forum rules regarding trades
HERE you'll get an idea of what im talking about

OK, now I can see the effect referred to and it's good. I recognise one sequence of sleights but it's all done very skillfully indeed. To be honest, £27 for the book is a good deal even if it's only half as good as Mog says it is. It works out at just £1.35 per trick - bargain or what?

not when I only want one trick lol. Well id probably learn about 4 :) but I do this casually as I said. I'm not a professional so £27 is expensive for me, to simply boggle my friends. I am considering buying it but it would be a bit daft of me really. If I spend money on magic, id rather spend it on more amazing effects such as close up magic and beer labels that apear inside the bottles and bitten coins etc. Oh well was worth a try :( Even paul daniels trades magic tricks with other people so I simply thought it was an ok thing to do.

Be careful, if you ask them to choose a card they'll probably eat it!
