Suitable Coin Set

Postby Just Steve » Aug 27th, '10, 16:08

Hey guys,

Once again im posting to request advice in regards to what i should get my little brother.

Some of you may have remembered my previous thread in which i stated that he is avid about coin magic even more than card magic. This is great because then it provides some different for him to focus on instead of feeling like hes following and copying me just because i focus on card magic.

Basically i was thinking of getting him a coin set that he could use for his magic and to spur him into putting even more effort into it. Im really very unknowledgable when it comes to coin magic and so i dont know how much they cost, whether i should spend a little more to get shell/multiple ones or what kind of coins to get him at all.

Any ideas would be great, but i am not looking to spend too much.

Cheers

Steve

I recomend Craig Petties mirage set, because frankly it has just about every type of gaff in it. And they are nice ones too.
Not cheap, but well worth the investment.

what dale said but also on a cheeper note split happens, coin and dvd, thers plenty of material on the dvd to go along with.
also an okito box and dvd setup would do, oddly enough someone is selling a great coin set with dvd worth taking a look at in the for sale section, ok its me but its still valid. :D

I know you already found what you wanted, but, just in case, Johnsons 'Hopping Half" is worth every penny. You get a heck of a lot of gimmicks plus a fantastic routine and it is really good quality.

How about a nice simple 2 quid shell?

I don't do much coin work, but with a shell you can elevate something from a puzzle (Well you had another coin and you palmed it really well) to a miracle.
