Recently bought the Incredibles for the kids, and as a super hero fan of old thoroughly enjoyed it myself. In fact I waited til everyone was in bed and then watched it by myself with a bit of peace and quiet!

However I was amazed at how closely the storyline follows that of Watchmen! Weird.

I dont know how many times Ive sat through this with the bairns, but its still bloody brilliant.

(not like Up! which I cant watch past the first 15 minutes with them as I turn into a blubbering wreck)

I saw it in the cinema when it came out, I didn't like it at all.

Maybe too many brats about who were bored as the film was too long for them.

The funny thing is, it's not really a kids' film. My kids didn't enjoy it at all - most of the humour went right over their heads and of course they didn't "get" any of the references to super-heroes, James Bond etc.

whats there nothing to like you have a dad who's not strong enough to save his family, a mother streached at every turn.
a son who just wants to win a race even though he can't walk on water. :wink:

and a daughter who just wants to be noticed and not invisable.

if you take nothing from this movie, take this if you ever want to be a super hero, don't ware a cape. :shock:

I'm a big Pixar fan, they really do put so much work into their stories, not just the animation. I've been asked before to name my favourite Pixar feature, but I simply can't.

That being said, my favourite Pixar short is easily the one that was screened ahead of (and included on the DVD of) Wall-E.

I love the scene where Bob and Helen are arguing about which route to take on the freeway. Such attention to detail.

Loved it!

I am a big kid at heart though, one of my favourite scenes of recent years is from Dreamworks' "Over the Hedge". When the chipmunk drinks the energy drink and the world stops I was crying with laughter.

Almost the exact same joke was used in Hoodwinked, which is an excellent film. Most Pixar films are kids' stories with a few adult references in there. Hoodwinked is an adult film pretending to be a cartoon.

Highly recommended...
