Magic Rings

Postby Ludders » May 5th, '05, 21:39

I have been interested in learning some ring magic. I am looking for small rings. The ones I have looked at are:

Jay Sankey's 3 Ring Circus
The Jardine Ellis Ring
Mercuring
Himber Ring/Stagge Ring
Russ Nedsweicki's Pinnacle

What one has the best effect and the best gimmick. I am looking for the one that is most flexible in any situation. I am new to ring magic so any recomendations would help.

Thanks,
Ludders

For flexibility 'Pinnacle' is hard to beat because it's completely non-gimmicked.

You could borrow a finger ring and an elastic band to perform.

There is a book on magic with rings that i think you should buy, rather than spending quite a lot of money on effects that you may never use.

The himber ring,( which is not Stagge ring,Thats a completely different effect), is not a close up trick. You need to have a reasonable amount of distance between you and the bulk of the audience to carry it off.

The Eliss ring, is a lovely clasic utility prop, whith which you perform ring on/ off wand, and a host of other penetrations .
I.M.H.O, this gives a better scope for invention than Pinnacle, 3 ring circus, and Mercuring, which come with a set routine.
