New to the magic

Postby Nox » May 3rd, '05, 20:23

To make a short story even shorter:

I've always been intressted in magic, and now when I'm 20 years and student (only 5.5 years of education until I'm doctor (+18 months of service)) I guess it's time to start learning how to do this things ;)

I've a few friends that are pretty good at doing magic with cards and that's why I'm trying to learn how to handle coins instead...I've got my self Bobos book..and have started to work on the palms..

I'm from Sweden so not sure what kind of coins I shall use but I guess I'll figure that out if I just give it some time..

So that's me :)

Welcome to TM Nox, Hope you stick with the magic I found coin magic very tricky to learn when i started playing around with it but you have a very good book to learn from. May I also Suggest THat you you look at some of the david roth DVD's on the market. sometimes seeing it work makes some of the sleights easier to learn.

Well, I'm planing to wait a little with Dvds and stuff like that, doesn't have so much money right now..and I guess it's better to learn a few palms before trying to do anything..

Can anyone suggest good swedish coins to use? Because it's a bit tricky to get dollars and stuff here..

You'll find that bobo's book is cheaper than you think (try amazon) and will contain all the sleighs you will ever need !

Welcome to TM Nox, Bobo's book is a classic book of magic and is a great starting point.

There is also David Roth's work and Richard Kaufman's coin magic book that are good follow on books to Bobo's as these books assume that you have probably got a few of the basic slights down.

If you feel that you want to go on to learning cards, The Royal Road to Card Magic is on a par with Bobo's book for starting out in cards....good luck with your magic and you have come to the right place for good advice when you need any help along the way! :)

Just a questions, I guess this probably is the wrong place to ask in but as the thread exists and someone hopefully will check it out when there's a new post in it ;)
So, my little question, is there any dc hub out there where people puts up there small performances? I've checked out a few of the sites where people put up there performances but I don't like those sites..they are so messy..
