Paranormal Activity 2

Worth checking out the trailer here:

Now, I absolutely hated the first ‘Paranormal Activity’ flick and have no reason to think the sequel will be any better. But the trailer is pretty effective; OK, it’s the same trailer that’s been doing the rounds in cinemas for a month or so but it’s especially good on the site… watch it once and don’t click away when the trailer’s finished for some nice weirdness… then refresh and start messing around with the ffwd/rwd bar – some particularly creepy stuff happens around the midway point :-)

I still bet the movie will be rubbish though!

Cheers,

Sean

Definately interested. Although I'm worried the direction this sequel will take. No doubt it's been Hollywoodised and made a little more mainstream. I loved the first Paranormal activity, it was pretty clever. And it is one of the few films that I find a little disturbing.

I thought the way that actual trailer started moving around the screen, zooming into the reflection of the baby was quite cool - especially considering what happens when you rewatch you trailer and start clicking around the halfway mark!

The only weird thing I noticed was how the baby was standing up in the reflection but wasn't in the actual cot. Also the zoom could be controlled by where your mouse was on the screen but that was about it.

Ah well.. I thought it was quite weird (especially when you see that baby again after messing with the ffwd/rwd button!) Maybe my mouse was just in a fortuitous location.

Looking at it again, that dog is not reflected in the mirror until it stands up, you should be able to see most of it when it is lying down but it's just not there. Did they just overlook this when they cropped in the rocking chair, or was it a concious decision?

Based on the quality of the first movie I am more enclined to believe it to be the second one.

Didn't they have to pull this trailer from cinemas in America because it was considered too scary? Or was that just hype?

We've had a thread on the first movie before haven't we? I don't hold out much hope for the second. They're in an awkward spot, if they do the same thing (cameras filming the action while everyone's asleep) they're repeating themselves, if they don't it'll just be a standard horror movie.
