You know what I like about Talk Magic?

Sure it can sometimes get a little nasty, ego's get bruised. There are times when it gets frustrating for everyone. But in the end the moderators and posters allow for a sense of humour. You can get away with a little sarcasm, a little satire. You can use humour to make a point even if it does present a little back handed slap. And most of you good folk understand it, toss it under the rug dust off the ego and move on. I think this is the way it should be. We are magicians, we can take it most of us are smart enough to know how it is meant, and if passions take over..well we are a passionate type of people. but in most cases we can laugh it off. We can slap our foreheads when we get slapped for making a comment that was really a no-brainer to begin with. Heck we can even make fun of ourselves and each other on the inuendo thread down in the Doves head. And its okay!

I just want to take the time to thank everyone for that freedom.

I agree with all the above (even the colour!): I've tried other forums but, for some reason, just can't seem to get on with them. For a start, I find the cafe a little too unwieldy - there just seems to be so many forums that I seem to get lost! (and they could take a few tip s about colour schemes too!)

No, TM is the place for me - I know where everything is (or at least everything that I need) and I've never been made to feel anything less than very welcome :)

I agree,
I never signed up to the cafe, because of the sheer size of it - occasionally I see a thread I want to read, but that's about it.

Years ago, when I was younger, I used to be on the Ellusionist forum - that wasn't so great - I think you can predict - lots of kids wanting to know how they can get money from doing street magic, etc... etc...
