OK here's the secret:

It's an optical illusion.

The metal does not bend around the fingers, it is the mind and body that bends around the spoon. Practise in front of a mirror and you'll soon get it.

Practise, practise, practise...

I was going to post a reply giving a false method etc. to add to the fun, but i changed my mind.
Why should any of us give the secret for free? If you want it for free, you don't deserve to know how it works! This isn't a site for free tricks and we don't answer questions like that here.
If you're serious about doing this kind of thing (which it's clear you are not) - then save up some money and buy some of the material mentioned on this site - I've provided quite a lot as have others. It's a worthwhile investment and you can quite easily make a lot more than the money you spend on it.

On second thoughts, try http://www.fork-you.com. It provides a detailed explanation on how to bend a fork - which is a similar method to bending a spoon. Sorry - I know it's not totally for free - you still have to get hold of a fork. Perhaps that might put you off doing it.

Hello there,

Js: Spoon bending is easy. The secret lies in your wallet

I know, I know. I'm dangling carrots, but if you'd spent time and effort getting an effect so right that your specs passed immediately into child-like wonder, would you react well to a stranger demanding you give it away for, as you put it, " FREE"?

come on guys, be nice.

I now I'm about to reveal a secret here but I think people deserve to know:

to bend any type of cuttlery you grab one end with one hand and the other with the other hand then push out with your thumbs pulling towards the rest towards you; then you put your left leg in, your left leg out, in ,out, in, out, you do the hokey pokey and you turn around, and that should do the trick.

Sorry fellow magicians, I think everyone should join in the fun ! :D

woah... ...thats an amazing method nairlof i never thought about...you can get your whole crowd involved...juss past out some cutlery and everyones involved...nawww...i still like my method better tho...i go on with my regular metal beding routine, and then i offer to teach the crowd...but since their all laymen i have to start off slwoly and easily...so i hand out plastic forks...and then i tell them the secret....

A CANDLE...thats right...who woulda guessed

i remove a candle from my back pocket and explain that this was lit at all times...so wut theyd have to do is light the candle and put it in the back pocket...then when they put the fork behind their back they gotta get it in just the right spot so it melts...and then pull it back out  ...haha that always gets some good laughs...so thats just a fun little thing ill do...but ill patter on and then start explaining the mechanics of how long to keep the plastic fork back there....now heres the good part...i put the fork behind by back...they know i have no candle their...yet when i pull the fork out form behind my back...its a melted mess of plastic... :P ...hehe...they burst out into laughter, and gets the whole crowd involved as theyre all standing their with plastic forks draped over a candle trying to melt a bend into them...hehe

but occasionally you get the crazy guy who goes home and actually tries the next day...and then you get a call from his lawyer

Just rub it till it gets really hot and starts to melt. May take a bit of effort and some time to get the technique perfected but once you realize the touch behind making it melt, its an awsome effect. Just don't give up!

Come on guys, give the lad a break!

I've spent a fortune on metal bending and trust me, this is the quickest way. A good metal bender always keeps his forks, spoons etc. in the back pocket of his / her jeans.

Next, eat nothing for 3 months except burgers and chips, drink at least 2 litres of red coke each day and then sit down.

Remove the fork from your pocket for surprise results.

Love the web site Taneous - will have to spend some time looking more closely!

LOL! Some nice imagination here - I actually think this just might lead up to some pretty cool routine; maybe a revolution is starting...
